Why does a message from a sender always go to the Spam folder or is never received in Ovi Mail?

Messages are directed to the Spam folder for two reasons. The first reason why a message is sent to the Spam folder is because the sender or domain is not included in your "safe sender list." Messages on your "safe senders" list are always delivered to your inbox and are not blocked as spam. The second reason why a message might be directed to the Spam folder is because the message is from a mailing list that is not included in your "safe distribution list." So, to prevent messages from getting sent to the Spam folder edit your Spam settings using the following steps:

  1. Log into http://mail.ovi.com
  2. Select Mail Preferences
  3. Select  Spam Settings
  • To add a sender or domain to your safe sender list to always get their messages, select "Add or remove safe senders" and then add the email address or domain to the safe sender list.
  • If the message is from a mailing list that is not addressed to your ovi account, select "Add or remove safe distribution lists" and then add the "To" address for the mailing list to your safe distribution list.
